Quality, outcomes and governance

When an organisation helps someone access an ADHD or autism assessment, or mental health support, the pathway needs to be more than convenient. It needs to be clinically credible, respectful, clearly governed and safe for the people using it.

Melios works with employers, insurers and partners who need confidence that people are supported through a robust assessment or mental health pathway, with clear communication, appropriate privacy boundaries and practical recommendations.

As the dedicated private service within the wider Healios group, Melios brings experience from online ADHD, autism and mental health services into private, workplace-supported and partner-accessible routes.

Why governance matters

ADHD and autism assessments, and mental health support, can have a significant impact on someone’s life. The outcome, or the progress made through a course of therapy, may influence how someone understands themselves, what support they access and what conversations they have with work, school, a GP or other professionals.

For organisations, governance matters because you need to know that the pathway is:

  • delivered by experienced clinicians
  • clear about consent and confidentiality
  • respectful of the person accessing care
  • supported by safeguarding and risk processes
  • suitable for online delivery
  • underpinned by appropriate information governance and privacy standards
  • designed to provide clear reports and practical recommendations

The aim is to provide access without compromising clinical quality, trust or individual experience.

Built from Healios clinical experience

Melios draws on the wider Healios experience of delivering online ADHD, autism and mental health services in partnership with NHS pathways.

This includes experience across children, young people, adults and families, with clinical governance, safeguarding and secure online delivery built into the model.

Healios is referenced in NHS England’s National Autism Best Practice Guide.

Clinical quality

Melios assessments and mental health support are delivered by experienced clinicians with specialist knowledge across ADHD, autism, neurodevelopmental needs and mental health.

The assessment process is designed to build a rounded understanding of a person’s strengths, differences, support needs and everyday context, and our mental health services are delivered with the same attention to individual circumstances. Depending on the pathway, this may include clinical appointments, questionnaires, relevant history and information from others where appropriate and with consent.

The goal is not simply to reach a diagnostic outcome or complete a course of sessions. It is to provide a clear, clinically informed understanding that helps people and those supporting them understand what may be helpful next.

Clear reports and practical recommendations

People accessing Melios receive written clinical reports in clear, professional language, whether following an assessment or as part of ongoing mental health support.

Reports help people understand the assessment outcome, or their progress through therapy, and consider next steps. Recommendations may support conversations with employers, schools, universities, healthcare professionals or other people involved in their support.

The person remains in control of who they share their report with. For organisation-funded pathways, funding access does not mean automatic access to personal clinical information.

Privacy, consent and information sharing

Privacy is central to any organisation-supported pathway, whether for assessment or mental health support.

If an employer, insurer or partner funds access to Melios, the person receiving care remains in control of their personal clinical information. They should understand what information is collected, how it is used, and what is or is not shared with the organisation funding access.

Any sharing of individual clinical information should be consent-led, clearly explained and managed within appropriate privacy and governance boundaries.

This helps protect the person accessing care while giving organisations a clear and appropriate way to support access without stepping into clinical decision-making.

Safeguarding and risk

Melios works within the wider Healios approach to clinical governance, safeguarding and secure delivery.

ADHD, autism, mental health, family circumstances and wider life challenges can overlap. Where concerns arise, clinicians need to know how to respond appropriately and support people safely.

For organisations, this means Melios is not simply a booking route. It is a clinically led pathway with safety and governance built into the model.

Secure online delivery

Melios assessments and mental health support are delivered online through secure digital routes, helping people access support from a private and familiar environment.

Online delivery should still feel personal, safe and well structured. Melios guides people through what to expect and how the assessment or therapy process works. Where appropriate, clinicians can discuss practical adjustments.

A pathway that supports people, not just processes

A strong pathway should work for the organisation, but it must also work for the person using it.

People accessing assessment or mental health support may feel uncertain, nervous or relieved to finally have the opportunity to better understand their experiences. That is why the user experience matters.

Melios aims to provide a pathway that is clear, respectful, supportive and grounded in clinical experience, helping organisations offer support in a way that feels human, not transactional.

Outcomes and reporting for organisations

Organisations often need to understand how a pathway is being used and whether it is delivering value.

Reporting can support this, but it should be designed carefully. It should provide useful insight while protecting individual privacy and clinical confidentiality.

Depending on the pathway agreed with the organisation, Melios may provide reporting on activity, access, uptake or other anonymised service-level information, across both assessment and mental health services.

Melios only shares individual clinical information with clear consent and appropriate governance.
